Our Sacred Heart community joyfully shared the message of Christmas through a beautiful retelling of the Nativity story — from the Annunciation to Mary and Joseph, to the Visitation, the birth of Jesus, and the arrival of the three Wise Men. Through song, narration and performance, our students helped us pause and reflect on the true meaning of Advent and the hope it brings. ✨ Year 6 Reflection Day ✨ Our Year 6 students spent a meaningful day reflecting on the Scripture passage Matthew 5:14–16: “You are the light of the world.” Students explored this Scripture through biblical micrography, an artistic prayer practice where words from Scripture are carefully written to form images and symbols connected to its message. This encouraged students to slow down, reflect deeply, and consider how they are called to be a light to others through their words and actions. We hope this experience helped our students recognise the unique gifts they bring to our school community and the ways they can shine God’s light in the world each day. #CatholicCommunity #sacredheartwestmead #year6reflectionday

Today, our school choir, together with Miss Matienzo and Mrs. Doan-Tran, visited Cabrini Nursing Home to sing Christmas carols and spread some festive cheer. 🎄✨ It was so heartwarming to see the residents’ smiles and share in the joy of the season. Student mobile phone use will be banned across 80 Western Sydney Catholic schools from the beginning of the 2026 school year. The restriction presents a positive opportunity to enhance student outcomes, both in academic excellence and wellbeing.

Last week, Sacred Heart celebrated Feel Good Friday with a twist. Not only did we take time to look after our wellbeing, but we also raised money to support formation funds for Catholic Mission. As part of their Plan for Action in Religious Education and to live out the Mercy Value of Service, our Year 6 students organised a variety of activities for the whole school to enjoy — even the teachers joined in the fun.
