NAPLAN: What Parents Really Need to Know
Each March, families across Australia hear a lot about NAPLAN. The National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) assesses students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and numeracy. But what does it really mean for your child in 2026?

Last week, eight of our amazing Stage 3 students proudly represented our school at the Da Vinci Decathlon at Santa Sophia! ๐โจ They worked collaboratively across all 10 disciplines, demonstrating creativity, teamwork and admirable problem-solving skills. Today we mark Ash Wednesday โ๏ธ, the beginning of Lent. As we receive the ashes, we are reminded to pause, reflect, and turn our hearts towards kindness, forgiveness, and love ๐ค. ๐ฅ Shrove Tuesday at Sacred Heart โ๏ธ Today our students marked Shrove Tuesday, reflecting on the meaning of Lent through in-class liturgies and prayer, ahead of Ash Wednesday. A highlight was enjoying delicious pancakes together as a school community! ๐ฅ A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful parent helpers for serving the pancakes. We are so grateful for your support.
