Sacred Heart Swimming Success
06 May 2019
What a great month April has been for swimming at Sacred Heart Primary.
All our students showed school spirit and showed great sportsmanship and tried to achieve their personal best.
A number of talented students managed to make it through to NSWCPS MacKillop Swimming Trials represented our school with excellence at Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush.
Congratulations to Imogen Burns and Gandthee Eammano!
This success has been a long time coming as our swimming carnival was late last year. No big records this year but our age champs are below:
- Under 8’s Gandthee, Sienna
- Under 9’s Noah, Kiara
- Under 10’s Daniel, Jessica-Pearl
- Under 11’s Matthew, Kansinee
- Under 12’s Thanos, Imogen
On Friday 22nd February, 8 of our age champion students represented the Cumberland Zone schools at the Diocesan Swimming Carnival at Blacktown. These students participated with great enthusiasum and outstanding outstanding sportsmanship.
Well done to Imogen and Gandthee on making it through to the NSWCPS MacKillop Swimming Championships.
A very big thank you to all the parents who supported the students at this event. A huge thanks to Mrs Mifsud for attending on the day and helping out in an offical capacity whilst cheering on the Sacred Heart team.

In Creative Arts, Stage One have been learning about sculptures and how to manipulate clay to create a 3D object. They created a Clay Fish sculpture which involved using a rolling pin to flatten the clay then carved a fish shape and added the features. The Clay Fish were then fired in a kiln at Catherine McAuley Westmead. The students then painted their fish and added details. Look at their amazing sculptures. We would like to thank Catherine McAuley Westmead and the Creative Arts team for assisting us with the firing of the clay. A big thank you also, to Karen Andrews from Captivate for teaching us all about clay. #cspd

We are certainly busy bees in Stage 1. During Literacy we have been researching and writing about bees, also known as Apis Mellifera. We know so many facts too! Did you know that bees can’t see the colour red? So much of our fruit and vegetables are only made possible because of bees! Have a look at our great learning.🐝
